Marcum Foundation Initiatives Benefit Area Youth
MIAMI, FL – Several recent initiatives from the Marcum Foundation helped make the summer months brighter for children and their families throughout South Florida. The Marcum Foundation is the charitable arm of Marcum LLP, one of the largest accounting and advisory services firms in the nation.
In August, the Marcum Foundation provided much needed supplies, including sheets, towels, toiletries, diapers, juice, snacks and paper goods to Children’s Harbor in Pembroke Pines. Founded in 1996, the nonprofit agency provides residential services for foster children in a family-style setting, as well as community-based services for the prevention and intervention of abuse and neglect.
Also in August, the foundation provided school supplies for more than a dozen high school students through the Children’s Home Society. Funds for the supplies were raised in part by Marcum LLP team members who participated in a casual Jeans Day fundraiser. As with all Jeans Day fundraisers at the firm, the foundation matched employee donations 100 percent.
Most recently, the Foundation donated 27 tickets to the Children’s Home Society for the Sept. 18 Marlins v. Chicago Cubs baseball game at Sun Life Stadium. The game, which included a concert featuring Gilberto Santa Rosa as well as a fireworks spectacular, was a rare opportunity for children and their families to enjoy a game together.
Since it was established in 2006, the Marcum Foundation has raised more than $500,000 for charitable causes in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The foundation has been recognized by South Florida Business Journal among the top 15 givers to South Florida charities. |
